Convenes public meeting in Rajouri

RAJOURI, AUGUST 27: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Information, Zulfkar Ali, Sundaycalled for judicious utilization of government funds allocated for various developmental projects aimed at creation of tangible assets of public utility.

The Minister was speaking at a public meeting at Dak Bungalow Rajouri attended by a large number of people from various areas of the Darhal Constituency of Rajouri.

Various concerns pertaining to macadamization of important roads, augmentation of power and water supply systems, rationalization of staff in educational institutes and health centers, and delayed MGNREGA and PMAY payments were taken up for discussion and on-the-spot directions were given for the earliest redressal of issues.

The Minister directed the concerned officials for timely completion of works on Chodhary Nar-Dajaj, Rajouri-Darhal, Budhal- Gabbar, Swari,  Jamola, and Seembli roads. He also instructed that macadamization work  be started as and when rainy monsoon seasons are over.

He took serious note of prolonged closure of Koteranka-Khawas road and issued strict instructions for clearance of landslides on the road.

Responding to overwhelming demands of electric poles in various areas, the Minister directed the concerned Executive Engineer PDD to project comprehensive figures of poles required in the district within 15 days. He also stressed that damaged transformers should be replaced as soon as possible.

Zulfkar also directed the concerned CEO and CMO to rationalize staff postings at various educational institutes and health centres for maintaining the necessary tutor-student and doctor-patient ratios. The CEO was also directed to submit a detailed proposal ascertaining the feasibility of establishing an educational zone in Jamola area.

The Minister called upon the officers to utilize funds in a judicious way for the creation of tangible assets of public utility, stressing on completion of development projects within their stipulated time-frames so as to avoid cost escalation.

DDC Rajouri, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, ADDC A. S. Chib, SSP Yougal Manhas, Executive Engineers of various engineering departments besides all district officers also attended the public meeting.
