Srinagar: A youth was killed after government forces opened fire on protesters in south Kashmir’s Khudwani on Tuesday.
The protests erupted in the Kulgam district area soon after the news about the killing of a local militant in Kokernag gunfight spread around.
Local sources told Kashmir Reader that two youths received bullet injuries during clashes at Khudwani area, adding one of them identified as Khalid Ahmad Dar succumbed to his injuries. Though the death of Khalid was confirmed but it was not clear whether he was injured at Larnoo, Kokernag near the gunfight site or Khudwani.
According to hospital sources Khalid had bullet injury on his neck.
CMO Anantnag told Kashmir Reader that they received 3 injured persons in the hospital. Two among them had bullet injuries and one pellet injuries.
Earlier two militants were killed in a gunfight with government forces in Kokernag area of Anantnag district.
One of the slain militants has been identified as Mohammad Furhan Wani S/O Ghulam Mohammad Wani. Wani, a resident of Khudwani area according to sources was active since June 2017
