Srinagar, Oct 24: A 23-year-old youth was critically injured after he was hit by a police vehicle, Rakshak, at Achabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday evening.
Reports reaching GNS said the youth, Nissar Ahmad Bhat, son of Sanullah Bhat of Nowgam, Shangus, suffered serious injuries in neck and head.
He was rushed to the district hospital wherefrom he was referred to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar, for advanced treatment.
The doctor at the district hospital Anantnag told GNS that the youth has suffered serious injuries in neck and head. He has been referred to SKIMS Soura for specialised treatment, he said.
Meanwhile, as per reports, the people of the area staged protests against the incident.
When GNS contacted the concerned SHO to confirm about the incident, he dropped the phone. When contacted again, he disconnected the call. (GNS)
