IGP, Sh J.P Singh highlights importance of secure Banking

Jammu, December 15: A workshop on secure banking/ Financial Frauds was held at Police Auditorium Gulshan Ground here today. The workshop was inaugurated by IGP Personal, Shri J.P Singh.

The workshop was attended by AIG (Trainings/ Policy), Shri Sameer Rekhi and over hundred police officers/officials associated with the police investigations in different districts of Jammu Division and investigating officers of Crime branch, Jammu.

Speaking on the occasion, IGP personal, Shri J.P Singh highlighted the importance of secure banking and impressed upon the participating officers to utilize this opportunity in gaining optimal knowledge form speakers of HDFC bank. He said that such workshop will be conducted in future also saying that it will go a long way to enlighten and educate the police investigators in particular about possible bank frauds and preventive measures. He also shared his experience regarding the banking frauds he came across during his posting at different places.

The professionals from HDFC bank which include Mr. Sachin Mahajan and Mr. Parvender Sing, heads of Jammu Cluster briefed the participants about the secure Banking/Financial Frauds. The objectives of the workshop was to focus on Vishing/phishing/ATM skimming, Identity theft of Account Takeover, recent trends of E-commerce & Net Banking and Coordination between the banks and law enforcement agency.

During the workshop, two experts from HDFC Bank, Mr. Pawan Gandhi and Mr. Amitabh Sharma displayed detailed power point presentations regarding the secure and safe banking to make participants aware of the matters they need to be careful about while conducting banking transactions; be it transacting at ATMs, using debit or credit cards and online banking
