Srinagar: Twenty two-year-old Saima Rashid (pic) from outskirts of Srinagar has secured a prestigious scholarship in Turkey. Saima has joined the Selcuk University in Konya, Turkey, for a master’s degree in journalism. The scholarship is fully funded by the Turkish Government as part of its foreign exchange programme. Saima pursued her graduation in Mass Communication and Multimedia Production from the Government College for Women, MA Road, and has also worked with local weekly ‘Kashmir Life’. “I want to go back to Kashmir and tell its story. I have already reported while pursuing my studies in Kashmir and will continue to do so once I complete the course here,” she added. Saima has to undergo a course in Turkish before the beginning her master’s programme. TNS
