Bijbehara: A bank was looted by unidentified gunmen in Arwani Bijbehara area of South Kashmir Anantnag district on Monday.
“Three to four burqa clad gunmen entered the Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch at Arwani Bijbehara in Anantnag district and decamped with cash from the premises,” The official said.
The robbers also fired some shots in air, they said. As soon as the gunmen fled, the bank manager informed the police after which senior officers rushed to the spot.
Army and Special Operation Group of Jammu Kashmir Police cordoned off the area but failed to nab anyone.
However, sources in the bank said around 5 Lake were looted.
