Srinagar, October 14 : Two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants have been killed in an encounter in Pulwama village of south Kashmir on Saturday.

A police spokesman told Kashmir Glory that acting on a tip off, a joint team of army and SOG cordoned off Litter village today wee hours.

Soon after the joint team of forces intensified the search operation, the hiding militants opened fire triggering off an encounter, he said.

In the gunfight, two militants were killed identified as Wasem Shah @Usama r/o Heff Shopian and Nazir Ahmad Mir r/o Litter Pulwama.

Meanwhile, clashes erupted between Goverment forces and protesters after encounter in litter area of Pulwama.

During intense clashes four civilians recieved bullet injuries. One among them identified as Gulzar Ahmad Mir S/O Ali Mohd Mir R/O Lassipora, Pulwama succumbed to his injuries in a hospital.

A senior Police official confirmed to Kashmir Glory that one civilian recieved serious bullet Injury and succumbed at a hospital.

Meanwhile authorities have decided to shutdown Internet mobile services in Pulwama district.
