Bandipora, 25 November 2107: Instead of ensuring basic healthcare and providing missing facilities in Hospitals, the Health department has transferred the doctor of the gynaecology department from the Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Bandipora.

People of Bandipora tehsil are aghast over the transfer of gynaecologist Dr Naseema Banoo Consultant MCH from District Hospital Bandipora to SDH Gurez saying the doctor’s transfer from the hospital has left them in the lurch.

They demanded immediate revoke of transfer order of Gynaecologist and threatened to take to streets if a Gynaecologist was not made available to the hospital.

The transfer of the experienced and trusted lady doctor from hospital has left women patients of the whole Bandipora in lurch as they cannot afford treatment in private Medical centres.

The transfer of the said female doctor of the Gynae department of the Bandipora hospital was virtually shut for women patients coming from far-off areas.

Dr Masrat Iqbal, BMO Bandipora, told Kashmir convener that the doctor was transferred according to the government order vide No.629-HME of 2017 Dated: 20-11-2017.

Delegation was demanding that Government should revoke this order of shifting the senior Gynaecologist and well dedicated doctor from the hospital.

One delegator, Sameena Ji, said that it is not for the first time that good doctors have been shifted from the town on political approach, stating that Government is doing a step-motherly treatment to her town.

Another well known bussinessman Mumtaz Ahmad, said that the Bandipora hospital caters to people from different areas of Bandipora and Gurez and every day hundreds of patients visit here.

President, traders federation Bandipora, Shamshaad Ahmad and members of federation termed it as government’s apathy and request higher upps to revoke the order as soon as possible.

A female patient Nighat Parveen said that Government should take notice of the matter and revoke the transfer order of the said female doctor without any further delay.

She also appealed to the Minister of Health Bali Baghat, Director Health Kashmir Saleem ur Rehamn and other concerned authorities to revoke this transfer order on a priority basis otherwise the people of Bandipora especially the women patients would be forced to launch a protest move against the arbitrary removal of the lady doctor from the hospital.
