Srinagar, October 20: Three residents of Kulgam district of south Kashmir have been held from a railway station in Rajasthan over their alleged militant links after being tipped off by J&K Police, officials said.

Officials of GRP told news agency GNS over phone that acting on J&K Police tip off, they arrested three persons hailing from Kashmir at Merta Road Junction Railway Station today afternoon and handed over them to Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) Rajasthan.

“We were already tipped off by the J&K Police and we acted accordingly,” said an official of the GRP. He said that the youths were later handed over to ATS Rajasthan to “probe whether they were planning any anti-national activity in the State”.

SP Vikas Kumar of ATS Rajasthan told news GNS over phone that all the three youths would be handed over to a J&K Police team which is arriving in Rajasthan shortly.

Sources identified the three youths as Suhail Ahmad, Ghulam Mohammad and Mohammad Parra.

When contacted, a J&K Police officer told news agency GNS that Sohail is wanted in many militancy related cases. “He (Suhail) is most wanted among them. With regards to others, we are ascertaining their role. We have dispatched a team to Rajasthan and we would be bringing them here,” he said. (GNS)
