Jammu 23 Nov: In yet another incident from Jammu and Kashmir, some of the students at the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGBSU) in Rajouri refused to stand during the National Anthem.

The incident took place during a valedictory function of the Silver Rolling Trophy. Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, SSP Rajouri and Vice-Chancellor of the University were among dignitaries present on the occasion.

People don’t need to stand up in cinema halls for national anthem to prove their patriotism, says Supreme Court

instead of showing respect to the National Anthem, two students were seen clicking a selfie.

The incident has angered other students and locals. An action against “guilty” students is being demanded.
Notably, China’s Parliament is mulling jail terms of up to three years for people who disrespect the national anthem or flag in public.
