February 20: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Srinagar have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

Officers at a checkpoint established at Eidgah near Metador Adda intercepted an i-10 car bearing registration number JK01H-0027 and arrested three drug peddlers. They have been identified as Dawood Farooq Mir, Shahzaib Yaseen Wani and Usman Khan all residents of Firdousabad Batmaloo. Officers during checking were able to recover 9.20 grams of heroin from their possession.

They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Safakadal where they remain in custody. Vehicle involved in the commission of crime was also seized.

A Case FIR No. 13/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Safakadal and further investigation has been taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
