One person died while four injured after a snow avalanche hit Sondbrari area of Magam in Kokernag in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district on Thursday evening. Police officials confirming the incident said that a snow avalanche hit the area on Thursday evening and a house has been completely buriedunder snow.
The family members, at least four in number, were been buried under snow, however the Police with the help of locals launched a rescue operation in the area to find the missing family members.
During the rescue operation, four members of the family were rescued while one dead body was recovered from the snow.
Sources added that the residential house belonged to Bashir Ahmed Qureshi.
