JKReTTF flays policies viz-a-viz new classification

Srinagar, 06 Nov【KNZ】:Describing the authorities diktat on withholding of examination results uncalled for, the Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar e Taleem Teachers Forum (JKReTTF) has termed the role of DIETs most unfortunate.

In a press statement, JKReTTF Chairman Farooq Ahmad Tantray  said that almost a month has passed since the annual exams in primary and middle classes were held in Kashmir division. The results are ready but various DIETs have issued directions to school heads not to declare results before 15th of this month. One fails to understand why this diktat was communicated when all the cluster heads were ready with results before the end of October.

Mr Tantray questioned the motives behind this move and said that ninety percent teachers are forced to sit idle in schools as they are being barred to start new classification. How can the tall claims of academic improvement be achieved when the precious time of the student community is wasted by these directions. Mr Tantray further said that the routine academic activities and schooling hours suffer due to frequent shut downs and strikes, then there is a harsh winter ahead which too can adversely effect the academic work

Mr Tantray also flayed the department for failing to make available the text books for new academic session. The non availability of text books speaks volumes about the irresponsible attitude and non seriousness of people who run the affairs of education department. He said private schools have already gone for new classification but the callousness of authorities have put a question mark on the efficacy of government schools.

The JKReTTF Chairman appealed the Minister of Education and Secretary Education to intervene into the matter and stop these irrelevant policies which are negatively impacting the academic environment of the state. The role of DIETs and SIE should be restricted to trainings and orientation only and the conducting of exams should be left to schools, Mr Tantray demanded.
