Shopian Killings: Break coalition with BJP: Grand Mufti tells Mehbooba

Deputy Grand Mufti Kashmir Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam Tuesday said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti should ask for removal of draconian laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from the state and break coalition with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“Mehbooba should ask for the revocation of draconian laws like AFPSA. She is part of an alliance with BJP and I think she should say goodbye to BJP,” Mufti Nasir told reporters at a press conference here.

He was reacting to the Chief Minister’s statement that the ‘investigation in Shopian killings will be taken to logical conclusion’.

“They are befooling us. Investigation is mere eyewash,” he said and threatened to take on streets against civilian killings.

He termed the civilian killings in Kashmir as “unacceptable” and said that India should stop bloodshed in Kashmir.

“Indian has been committing atrocities on Kashmiris since 1947. I want to tell India to stop it. Killings can’t be tolerated,” Mufti Nasir said.

He said that Kashmir neither was nor will remain part of India and India has to leave Kashmir.
