Srinagar 04 Aug : Four out of the five militants killed in a gunfight with the government forces in Kiloora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district have been identified.

An official identified them as Arshad Ahmad of Ganowpora Balpora, Waqar Ahmad Sheikh of Malikgund, Aijaz Ahmad Paul of Lousdanew and Umar Malik of Malikgund.

The identity of the fifth militant is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, twenty protesters were injured in clashes with the government forces near the site of the gunfight.

Reports said that youth took to streets and clashed with the forces deployed in the village to disrupt the ongoing operation against the militants trapped inside a residential house.

Five militants have been killed in the ongoing operation so far, army said. An official said the identity of the slain militants is being ascertained.

DGP SP Vaid said the militants are “learnt to be part of Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit”.(GK)
