  • Ganderbal, Dec 19: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Chaudhary inaugurated Water Supply Scheme Gratpora-Benhama, here today. The Water Supply Scheme was completed at a cost of Rs.2.74 Crore with designed scope to provide potable drinking water to five habitations including Gratpora,Malik pora, Bye pass Mohalla, Bagh-i- zaman and Benhama.The Member Legislative Assembly Ganderbal, Sheikh Ishfaq, Additional District Development Commissioner, N.A Baba, SSP Ganderbal Fayaz Ahmad Lone, Chief Engineer PHE, Abdul Wahid, S.E Hydraulics Srinagar/Ganderbal Mr. Bardwaj, S.E Mechanical Abdul Rashid Dar, Executive Engineer PHE Ganderbal N.A Dar and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.Addressing the gathering, the Minister resolved the Government’s commitment to provide potable drinking water to every nook and corner of the state. He said various state and centrally sponsored schemes are coming up across the state at a good space which will augmented the present water supply scenario of the state especially living in far-off and hilly areas. He said the present coalition Government has taken the PHE Sector at top most priority.The Minister, on the occasion, listened various public deputations and gave the on spot directions to the concerned engineers to redress the problems of the concerned people.
