GANDERBAL, FEBRRUARY 20: District Child Protection Officer Ganderbal today organized awareness cum sensitization programme regarding implementation of Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act in the conference hall of Mini Secretariat Ganderbal.

The programme was organized under the Chairmanship of Principle District & Session Judge Mohammad Yousuf Wani and Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal.

Among other dignitaries Chief Judicial Magistrate, DCPO and officers of various departments participated in the workshop.

The main aim and objective of the workshop was to sensitize various departments regarding the child protection service for convergence and working together for the child Rights.
Speaking on the occasion, Principle District & Session Judge highlighted the importance of JJ Act, role of Juvenile Justice Board and stated that the public should be more vigilant and aware of assault or harassment cases and such awareness programme can help the people combat such cases.

The ADDC, on the occasion said that children are the major human resource of development and key agents for collective social change who cannot be deprived of hope and dignity. He stressed for imparting knowledge and information through awareness programmes, workshops etc in such a way that the public can easily understand the steps and procedures required while tackling assaults and other cases.

Besides it is utmost important that the Government schemes, implemented in the interest of the people, reach the targeted beneficiaries without fail, he added.
