Uri 08 Aug:The SDM Uri and in-charge custodian Trade Facilitation Centre Salamabad on Tuesday sealed the Customs Office at the TFC as no employee was present in the office, sources said.

As the trade had to resume today after remaining suspended for several days, the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Uri, Dr Sagar D Doifode, who also is in-charge custodian showed at the facilitation centre at early morning.
However, when he found the customs officials absent, he immediately ordered the sealing of the office, sources said.
They said that the SDM himself overlooked the trade for the day, while four trucks laden with seeds and other spices left for Chakoti to cross over to Pakistan Administered Kashmir.
The cross-loc trade, a confidence building measure between India and Pakistan was stopped later last month after a huge quantity of Heroine was recovered from one of the trucks from PaK. The driver of the truck was immediately arrested.
After meetings between the officials of the two sides, the trade resumed today.
However, sources said that the drivers from across the loc have decided not to travel to this side of the loc till the arrested driver is not released.
