Oct 11 [KNZ]: The decision has been taken after the department faced criticism from students for notifying date sheet wherein exams were scheduled from October 18.

However students from various schools complained to Greater Kashmir that they have not completed more than 50 percent of their syllabus in schools and were not in position to appear in the scheduled exams.

“We have completed only 50 percent syllabus in our schools and we are yet to appear in our Unit II exams which is scheduled from October 23 in our school,” a group of students from Burn Hall school complained to Greater Kashmir.

Another group of students from Mallinson higher secondary school said their unit II exams are going on while as Board of School Education (BOSE) has notified date sheet for annual exams from next week which is injustice with the students.

“Our Term I exams were held last month. Our syllabus is not complete,” said a group of students from Mallinson school.

Secretary school education Farooq Ahmad Shah said the annual exams of class 11 students will be postponed to the last week of November.

“Keeping in view the interests of students BOSE is going to issue a revised date sheet and exams will be held in last week of November,” Shah said.

He said the department will ensure that no student is put to any inconvenience.

“We are concerned about interests of students. Let students complete their syllabus first,” he said
