Srinagar, December 03:(GNS) A Gunfight broke out between militants and goverment forces in Sangran area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on early morning of Monday.

Reports reaching GNS said that a joint team of army’s 34RR, CRPF and SOG cordoned off Sangran in wee hours.

As the joint team of intensified searches towards suspected house the hiding militants inside house fired upon goverment forces triggering an encounter.

A senior Police official told GNS that that initial contact has been established after having credible input about presence of some militants.

As per the sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped.(GNS)
