People hailed the work of PDD Ganderbal

Ganderbal 11 Jan (KNZ):Power Development Department (PDD) has Fully completed electricity connections under Saubhagya scheme across the Ganderbal District.

The initiative taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeks to provide electricity to 4 crore families across the country by December 2018.

According to an official, scheme “Saubhagya” with an aim to provide free electricity connections to poor people in the District

The scheme also promises on-the-spot registration of applicants.

When Kashmir News Zone-KNZ team visited different villages located especially on difficult terrians said that the residents were quite enthusiastic and thankful to PDD Ganderbal and are expecting the other facilities like road and water at their door steps.

Various tough terrian habitations like Kachpatre Mamer,Ganiwan, Dardpora Anderwan, RD4000, Kakran Bridge Sonmarg, Shajinag,Pakhtoon Pati and many more have been connected in this Scheme.

Locals further added that the power supply in their HH’s seems to be a dream that turns into reality.

When Kashmir News Zone-KNZ contacted PDD Executive Engineer Mr Javaid Ahmad he said the laying of power lines and installation of transformer in such hilly areas was a challenging task which has been completed despite of harsh weather conditions.

He also said un-connected HHs of district Ganderbal have been connected to grid under the centrally sponsored scheme.

He said that department has installed adequate number of distribution transformers in these unconnected habitations.Besides, construction of HT and LT lines with laying of conductor was created to the state of art in these areas.

The department has gone a step ahead by providing LT extensions in ample of villages to connect the un-connected HHs and the schools of primary and secondary level.The execution of work has been maintained to the standards despite of other routine assignments and the completed in mission mode.KNZ
