Ganderbal 23 Sept【KNZ】:To continue with it’s Civic Action programme for the welfare of people,J&K Police started 3 days long Traffic Awareness Programme
from manigam crossing in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal District today on the direction of SSP Ganderbal Mr Fayaz Ahmad Lone (KPS)

Ganderbal district is plagued by frequent traffic accidents which leads to loss of precious lives. Most of these accidents are caused due to poor traffic awareness and limited knowledge of traffic rules among people.

In order to educate general public about traffic regulations, J&K police started a 3 days long ‘Traffic Awareness Programme’ in different parts of District.

The Programme was organized under the supervision of Dysp Ganderbal Dr Ramiz Raja

“The focus of this awareness drive will be not only the two wheeler and  four wheeler drivers but also pedestrians and cyclists as well,” said Dysp Dr Ramiz Raja

“It is planned that teams of the J&K police as well as representative of public hold awareness classes and lectures for drivers elaborating upon
basic traffic signs and road safety aspects,” he added

The classes will be organised across the district at different locations where maximum vehicles, drivers and members of general public are available including important cross roads , road junction other busy places.

Pamphlets highlighting ‘Do’s and Dont’s’ of traffic rules for motor cyclists, four wheeler/ two wheeler drivers, pedestrians and school children were also distributed to carry the message to home.

“Today we started from Manigam crossing and subsequently the program will be extended  at different places of District Ganderbal during these days long Programme,” official added.
