Will hoist black flag at Bhakshi Stadium on India’s independence day

Srinagar, August 15:  Police today barred AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er Rashid from visiting Chairman APHC (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to his residence, where Er Rasheed was to attend an already scheduled meeting with Huriyat Chairman.

As soon as Er Rashid reached Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s residence at Nageen Hazratbal, a police party stopped him from entering the house. Concerned SHO used foul language and also snatched cell phones from Er. Rasheed.

Party spokesman Inam Un Nabi who was accompanying Er Rashid has condemned the act and accused the government of squeezing the space for political reconciliation and finding a common ground to fight for the rights of people of state.

Meanwhile Er. Rasheed while congratulating people of India on eve of their independence day has said why should Kashmiris be forced to hoist tri colour on eve of 15th August every year .

Er. Rasheed said “J&K never got freedom on 15th August 19 47 but in fact just 72 days after India won freedom, failing to understand the values of freedom, New Delhi by its military might snatched freedom of Kashmiris and has failed to full fill its promises of giving Kashmiris Right to Self Determination”.

Er. Rasheed added that 15th August has also lost its relevance due to the fact that New Delhi is using its institutions to humiliate and snatch the rights from people of Jammu & Kashmir.

He said ” Calling J&K its integral part but dragging the provisions granting J&K Special Status to Supreme Court has shaken the faith of those few people who believed in being part of India, as such Kashmiris are fair enough in celebrating 15th August as a BLACK DAY and Mehbooba Mufti or anyone else has no right whatsoever to hoist tri colour at any place in the state. He added that AIP will observe India’s Independence Day as a Black Day and will hoist a black flag at Bakhshi Stadium to tell the common masses of India that J&K is a disputed territory.
