Srinagar, October 15: Continuing its drive against drug menace, the special squad of Pulwama Police comprising of SHO Pulwama, DO Lassipora and DO Kakapora headed by DYSP Hqrs Pulwama apprehended a notorious drug peddler of town Pulwama namely Junaid Ahmad Ganie son of Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie resident of Chatapora Pulwama and 20 number of narcotic injections have been recovered from his possession. Case FIR No. 352/17 u/s 21 NDPS has been registered in P/S Pulwama. It has been found that the said person was selling the narcotic injections to the youth of Pulwama. During investigation, it has been found that some persons namely Farooq Ahmad Mir S/o Ali Mohammad Mir resident of Prichoo Pulwama, Shabir Ahmad Malik son of Mohammad Akram Malik resident of Malikpora Pulwama and Parvaiz Ahmad Alias Pari Kaali resident of Malangpora are getting these narcotic injections from outside the state and are supplying to Junaid for onward selling to the youth of Pulwama town.

Further the special squad has conducted raid in Tahab Village where 180 kilograms of Bhung powder ( Raw material of charas) have been recovered from the houses of Imtiyaz Ahmad Zai son of Abdullah Zai and Farooq Ahmad Zai son of Abdullah Zai residents of Tahab and 02 cases vide FIR NO.s 364/17 and 365/17 u/s 8/20 NDPS have been registered in P/S Pulwama. During police raid at Tahab, the local population provided full cooperation and support to police in making seizure of narcotic substances.

The squad has also recovered 500 grams of pure charas form Auto bearing registration No. JK01N-6079 driven by Khazir Mohammad Bhat son of Ab. Rahim Bhat resident of Brein Nishat Srinagar. The driver of Auto has been arrested and case FIR No. 362/17 u/s 8/20 NDPS has been registered in P/S Pulwama.

The SSP Pulwama has appealed general public particularly of town Pulwama to keep an eye on the elements who are supplying contraband substances to the youth of Pulwama.
