Baramulla, May 3 :- There was still no trace of three youth who drowned in Jhelum in this north Kashmir town on Tuesday after their boat capsized.

‘We pressed into service the MARCOS besides men from SDRF, police and locals for rescue operation but there was no trace of youths who drowned,’ official sources said on Thursday.

However, the locals and relatives of the youth alleged that rescue teams are conducting searches on their boats without making effort to go inside the river.

They said five youths drowned after a boat they were riding in capsized in the river at Dewan Bagh, in this north Kashmir town on Wednesday.

However, those present in the area immediately jumped into the river and saved two youths.

However, three others identified as Anzar Wani, Tufail Ahmad Shah and Shaid Ahmad Shah, all local residents, could not be saved.

Sources said this morning the operation was launched again to recover the bodies of the youth. The operation was suspended last night due to darkness. MARCOS and SDRF personnel are conducting massive searches in the river.

As the water of river Jhelum finally enters Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) enough measures are already
there that no body flow across the Line of Control (LoC), they added.
