Ganderbal 22 January (KNZ):Irritated over frequent damage of transformers, residents of Malshahibagh,Gangerhama, and adjoining villages protested and blocked Srinagar-Leh highway and Manasbal road respectively suspended the vehicular moment for several hours from here on Tuesday

Protesters said the area is reeling under darkness and PDD is not following the curtailment schedule. “There is no schedule for supplying us with electricity. We are suffering badly but none listens to us,” they said.

Raising slogans against Power Development Department protesters demanded repairing of transformers and restore power on time

Residents said that the department has been befooling them by assuring regular supply of electricity but on ground nothing concrete steps has been done and the people have been left with no other option but to come on roads.

Protesters alleged that their transformer had got damaged and is not being repaired and also there is no scheduled of power supply in their locality.

They were Demanding immediate installation of transformer in their area as soon as possible.

The protesters were later pacified by DSP Ganderbal and tehsildar who assured them that the issue would be raised with the concerned authorities.
