Apprises him about to-date status of Central University of Kashmir.

Delhi 15 Feb:Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, MLA Ganderbal, called on Union Minister Minister of Human Resources Development Prakash Javadekar at the Delhi here today and apprised the latter about the to-date status of ongoing development and project of vital importance Central University of Kashmir in his Constituency.

MLA Ganderbal expressed his serious concern against the halting of work at the proposed site at Tullamulla.

MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar gave all the details to the union HRD Minister from the beginning of the work at CUK campus from 2009 to till date.

During his meeting with the Honorable MHRD Minister, MLA Ganderbal apprised him about the academic matters and developments regarding the ongoing campus construction at Ganderbal. Ishfaq informed Shri Prakash Javadekar about the work of varsity, construction of the buildings at Ganderbal and also shared the concerns expressed by the Central Government.

In the meeting I told MHRD Minister that “I am not only concerned about the shifting of University from temporary buildings located at different locations of Srinagar to Ganderbal but also about the education of the students enrolled in this institution, which is suffering immensely due to absence of a permanent campus with requisite infra structure .It is ironic that the official negligence and absolute lack of accountability has marred this premier institute,”.

Ishfaq said that MHRD Minister assured me that I will personally visit the said place till that that a team will visit in one or two weeks and they will submit me the detailed report about the concerns submitted by the Central university of Kashmir.

Appreciating Jabbar’s concerns the MHRD Minister urged him to continue his endeavours for promoting a peaceful environment which would enable rapid development and welfare of the people of his area.

Additional Secretary MHRD Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Principal Private Secretary to Hon’ble MHRD Minister Dr Mandeep Bandari were also present in the meeting
