Srinagar, Sep 5 : Government forces on Wednesday launched a cordon-and-search operation at Sheeri forests of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Reports reaching GNS said that a joint team of 46 RR, CRPF and SOG launched the cordon at Teripora forest area of Sheeri.
Some fire shots was fired by the militants soon after the joint team of forces intensified the combing operation during the cordon, they said.
SSP Baramulla Imtiyaz Hussain told GNS that the search operation has been launched following some suspicious movement was observed in the area.
“So far no contact has been established and the operation is under way,” Hussain said. (GNS)
