Ganderbal, Nov 10【KNZ】:The anti-encroachment Drive that was started at massive scale by the District Administration Ganderbal under the supervision of District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla is going on in its full swing with special emphasis on removal of encroachments along water bodies, state land and kahcharie land. Also efforts are on full swing to prevent any conversion of Aabi Awal land as per provisions of land revenue act. The aim of this drive is to retain the original pristine beauty of these water resources.

It started by Cleaning and removing illegal encroachments around the Trout Nallah, a canal near district hospital Duderhama Ganderbal which was a long pending demand of locals.
In a bid to control the filth smell near district hospital and to enhance the flow of water for irrigation, The District Administration is continuously monitoring the drive against encroachments on the embankments of this canal.

In addition to that, illegal encroachments around the Karkhan Koul are also being removed to keep it clean and maintain its original width. Special task team has been formulated under supervision of respective Tehsildars to take strict action promptly. So far 37 kanals of Kahcharie and 7 kanals of State land land had been retrieved from illegal occupation by Encroachers at Guzhama, Wussan, Nuner Bobsipora and Sonamarg by the District Administration.

The general public appreciated the drive continuing in the District and appealed the District Administration that such type of drives should be conducted in future also.
The drive of cleaning of water resources gave an opportunity for the local populace to join hands together with District Administration to create awareness about the importance of hygiene and sanitation in the areas of Ganderbal District.

DDC Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla has appealed the people not to encroach upon the irrigation canals and other places, as the main source for our irrigation and adds to the beauty of the District. DDC also said that, demolishing process is going on and will continue till all the encroachments around the Nallahs are removed and appealed the people to cooperate and make this drive successful.KNZ
