During the drive a penal sum of Rs 5300 was recovered as a fine from shopkeepers for violation of the Essential Commodities Act 1955, besides huge quantity of rotten vegetables,fruits and other food items were destroyed.Also huge quantity of polythene recovered on spot
The Tehsildar Ganderbal Miss Rabiya Yousuf directed the concerned officers to intensify the market checking to ensure quality products are made available to the consumers for the upcomming Eid ul Adha celebrations. The team also asked the shopkeepers to put on display the approved rate lists of their items.
The team also seized 20 kg polythene on the spot checking and local from areas appreciate the good move taken by officers and hope that such checking will be in future.
