SRINAGAR: In what could turn out to be a major relief for people from persistent dry weather; the local Meteorological Departments prediction for moderate to heavy rain or snow at widespread places in Jammu and Kashmir from today goes towords in right direction as a long dryspell finally ended today after rains lash several parts of Kashmir valley.

According to the weather advisory issued by the MeT department, a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the state and its adjoining area from February 11th evening.

The WD according to the MeT are likely going to persist till Tuesday afternoon.

“Moderate to heavy snow or rainfall is expected at widespread places of the state, while moderate snowfall is expected in Ladakh’s Kargil district,” read MeT’s weather advisory.
