Srinagar, Aug 09 : Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) on Thursday paid tributes to the slain militants who were killed in encounter that raged between forces and militants in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

In an e-mailed statement issued to KNS, the LeT spokesman D Abdullah Ghaznawi said that “a handful of our Mujahideen engaged the combined strength of Indian Para military forces, SOG of JK Police and Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army in Rafiabad gun fight.”

“In-spite of being heavily outnumbered by the massive Indian forces and superior fire power on the Indian side, the mujahideen were able to inflict substantial losses on the Indian side, as a result of which Indian planners were forced to deploy Special Para Commandoes along with many more of troops from Indian Para Military, SOG of JK Police and RR of Indian Army,” LeT said.

They said that “the special para commandoes of Indian Army had to bite dust when casualties were inflicted on them as well. In two day lasted gunfight 8 Para commandos killed. Our Mujahideen ultimately achieved what they wanted (Martyrdom) on the battlefield but before that they made the enemy to bite dust in-spite of being handful in number. We pay our deepest respect to their sacrifice.” (KNS)
