Ganderbal 14 May【KNZ】:Hundreds of wuarry workers today protested against auction of Minor minerals.They alleged that the auction was process in conduct in ‘unfair’ manner.
The protesters blocked Ganderbal-Safapora road near Gangerhama. Protesters were raising slogans against administration.Later on police pacified protesters and protest was called off.
Protesters allege that they were not given prior information before auction and administration was suppose to reserve mining blocks for Labour bodies and cooperatives. But they did not reserved any block for cooperatives.
When Kashmir News Zonecontacted Mineral officer Mohammad Manzoor Dar he said he said, “There is misconception among people. Administration is at liberty to reserve mining blocks for local labour bodies and cooperatives.
We gave prior notice all the stake holders via mass media. Auction was conducted in transparent and fare manner. SRO-105 is beneficial for all. Laborers will not be affected.”KNZ
