Srinagar:A complete shutdown is being observed in Kashmir valley against a plea in the Supreme Court seeking abrogation of Article 35-A which confers special rights on J&K’s permanent residents.

The call for shutdown was issued by Joint Resistance Leadership against “assault” on state’s special status and “efforts” to abrogate Article 35-A.

In summer capital Srinagar, all shops and other business establishments are closed while traffic is off the roads.

Reports of shutdown were received from all districts of the valley.
