SRINAGAR:Without naming RSS, Mehbooba said: “Some people in India want to take us back to 1947 by going to the Supreme Court on one issue and another.”

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister on Tuesday said that all the political parties in the state “were like one fist” to protect the special status of the state.

“My countrymen, we are all together…like a fist when anybody tries to harm the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Fight for chair would be a separate matter. Nobody can trigger division among us when it comes to special status of the state,” said Mehbooba, during her I-Day speech at Bakshi stadium here.

Mehbooba also thanked National Conference President Farooq Abdullah for “letting her meet him and guiding her like her father”.

“I requested Farooq sahib that someone had knocked the doors of Supreme Court again…they have tried again to harm Article 370. I am happy that he listened to me like an affectionate father and gave some suggested on which I acted,” said Mehbooba.

The Chief Minister also took a dig at Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for challenging Article 35-A in the Supreme Court.

Without naming RSS, Mehbooba said: “Some people in India want to take us back to 1947 by going to the Supreme Court on one issue and another.”

But she reposed trust in the Supreme Court, which she said would continue to uphold the special status of the state.
