Says drive launched by Karwan-e-Islam against liquor consumption bearing fruit

Srinagar: Karwan-e-Islami patron Alama Ghulam Rasool Hami said the extensive anti-liquor campaign launched by them has started bearing fruit and that shocking revelations during the drive has come to fore which suggest that the menace of liquor consumption is eating the young generation of Kashmir as it is spread in every nook and corner of the Valley. Alama Hami said while was bloodbath has become a routine feature in Kashmir on one hand, on the other, the deep rooted liquor consumption is consuming the lives of young lot as they are falling prey to it.

Addressing the seminar at Mehboob-ul-Alam College of Education at Bandipora, Alama Hami said that the need of the hour is to stay united to root out the menace of liquor consumption from the valley of saints. He said that the irony was that Government is openly promoting the liquor business in Kashmir despite knowing that it is putting the lives of people of Kashmir in a danger. He said given the seriousness of the issue, Karwan-e-Islami is busy in anti-liquor drive and has made the lifestyle (seerat) of beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as a tool to fight this growing menace. The best way to fight the menace, Alama Hami said is to follow the footprints of beloved Prophet (SAW) and the great and revered saints of Kashmir, who put their blood and sweat to bring Islam in its true and pristine form to the door steps of Kashmiris.
Alama Hami said that the arrival of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) in this world triggered an explosion of knowledge of which world is reaping benefits to date even as scientists too are working on the sayings of greatest prophet (SAW).

He said its time for every citizen of Kashmir to shoulder responsibilities and to fight against the menace of drug abuse and liquor consumption. Alama Hami said that shocking details have come from the SMHS report that says in the recent times, 10,500 youth have registered with the hospital to get rid of the growing drug abuse.

Paying rich tributes to the grandson of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW), Hazrat Imam-e-Hussain (AS), who rejected the Yazeed’s compromise offer and instead decided to prefer martyrdom of himself and his entire family including infants in the grounds of Karbala, Alama Hami said that Imam Hussain (AS) left a great lesson of truth and great belief for us to learn and to follow.
