Scores of JKLF leaders and activists staged a march in Maisuma area of Srinagar after Friday prayers to express solidarity with Hurriyat leaders and activists lodged in various jails.

Srinagar Nov 24::Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Friday staged a solidarity march for political prisoners lodged in various jails in and outside the state.

Several JKLF leaders and activists staged a march in Maisuma area of Srinagar after Friday prayers to express solidarity with Hurriyat leaders and activists lodged in various jails.

“We took out this march on the call of Joint Resistance Leadership to express solidarity with Hurriyat leaders and activists, including men, women and children, lodged in jails from Tihar to Srinagar,” said Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Zonal President of JKLF.

He said the protest was also organized to condemn the crackdown launched by the government forces in south Kashmir.

“We understand that the crackdown launched in the name of ‘Operation all-out’ by forces in the Valley is a planned ploy to carry out massacre of Kashmiri youth,” he said.

The protesters later dispersed off peacefully.
