Srinagar, Feb 21 : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday arrested a militant associate, who was affiliated with the militant outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit.

According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a police spokesman said that based on a credible input, a checkpoint was established at Khansahib area of Budgam. “Officers at the checkpoint intercepted an individual Saqib Ahmad Lone resident of Wager Khansahib and incriminating material was recovered from his possession,” the spokesman said.

He said that as per police records he is involved in assisting the active militants of JeM operating in the areas of Khansahib area of Budgam. “He is also involved in providing logistic support, shelter to JeM militants operating in the area,” the spokesman said.

He said that a case under relevant section of law has been registered in Police Station Khansahib and further investigation in the matter is in progress. “Incriminating materials recovered from his possession have been taken into records to probe his complicity in militancy related incidents,” the spokesman said.
