Srinagar : The students residing in the hostels of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora have been asked to vacate, while all the scheduled papers have been canceled.

Talking to The Kashmir Walla, the hostel incharge of IUST, Amin Butt, said, “We have vacated the hostels,” because of the ongoing situation in the Valley, and he added, “The paper which were scheduled for tommorrow have been postponed.”

“We got a call from Amin Butt, and he asked us to vacate the hostel without giving a reason,” said Muttaqi Naik, a student pursuing masters in IUST. He added that the university management is also preparing to evacuate all the non-local students.

Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday issued security advisory in the interest of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims and tourists.

In an order isssued by Government of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Secretariat Home Department it is mentioned that in the interest of safety and security of tourists and Amarnath Yatris, it is advised that they may curtail their stay in the valley immediately and take necessary measures to return as soon as possible”, keeping in view the latest intelligence inputs of terror threats.
