GANDERABL, MARCH 08:- In connection with International Women’s Day, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Ganderbal today organised a colourful function based on theme “Beti Bacho, Beti Padhao” at Qamria High School, Ganderbal in collaboration with District Administration.

Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal was the Chief Guest on this occasion. CDPO Ganderbal Dr. Naseer Ahmad Baba, DHO, Dr. Afroza and women participants from ICDS, Education, Health, Sports were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, ADDC highlighted different aspects of women empowerment and the rights. He said that women should be given equal status and respect in all fields.

During the function, various speakers while highlighting the significant role played by women in social, economic, political, educational and judicial fronts said that mass awareness about the rights of women and to acknowledge their achievements is the need of hour.

Colorful cultural programmes were also presented by different participants including society for the rehabilitation of destitute girls and victims of violence (SRDGVV) and Kashmir Lifeline and Health Care Centre based on the theme “Beti Bachao Beti Padho”. Girls students of different educational institution of the district who toped in sports activities and JKBOSE 10th 12th exams held in last year were felicitated by ADDC Ganderbal on the occasion.
