Ganderbal, Sep 05:- The District Administration Ganderbal in collaboration with National Informatics Centre (NIC) Ganderbal took a big step by introducing and Implemented Advanced Hybrid IP based PBX (Public Branch Exchange) System in the Administrative setup by hooking all the major District Heads in the district on the network.

The system will increase the work flow of Administration, reduce the cost of communication, offers quality Service for better productivity and bring about efficiency in the overall working of the Administration. It can not only affect positively to an emerging technology enabled Govt. but can also help to establish an ongoing business process tremendously. The product is going to have an impact on the overall socio-economic development of the District as well.
The IP-PBX System has several salient features like system operates within and outside Mini Secretariat Complex Ganderbal and connects outside Offices like that of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, SSP Office Ganderbal and various other offices that are remotely situated in the District. Issues requiring multi-sectoral intervention can be resolved immediately especially when public deputations meet for redressal of genuine problems, law and order issues etc.
In this interconnected network acting as a backbone for Disaster Management situation as routine network services like BSNL etc. may be hit at crucial time. This was immediately useful during Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) period.
This established hybrid network has a capacity to incorporate IP based cameras at all locations where the network is spread out. So, at one location i.e., Mini Secretariat Ganderbal (DC Office) live camera feeds of various locations can be obtained based on this network.
The system has numerous advantages including minimum maintenance of the network once setup and operational, zero cost on Communication and no Operator is required to operate the system.
