Jammu, January 04:-Inspector General CRPF Jammu, who was reportedly on a two-day official visit to Bhadarwah was airlifted to Jammu after suffering a massive heart attack late last night.

IG CRPF A. B. Chouhan, who was reportedly on an official visit to Bhadarwah and was putting up at Teligarh tourist resort along with his wife, complained  of severe chest pain and nausea late last night at 11:00 PM.

The officer was immediately rushed to Sub District Hospital Bhadarwah, where doctors diagnosed him of Myocardial infarction (heart attack).

“The officer was brought to emergency around 11:15 PM while complaining of severe chest pain and breathlessness. A team of doctors led by Dr Sandeep Kotwal (physician specialist) immediately attended the patient and started the investigation,” said BMO Bhaderwah Yudhvir Singh.

“The doctors of SDH Bhadarwah, who were also joined by an Army doctor from Rashtriya Rifles Bhadarwah unit, started treatment, although the officer was responding to the treatment and his condition was gradually getting stable, but as a precautionary measure was airlifted to Jammu for specialized treatment,” BMO added.

While confirming the news, CO CRPF, A. Padmakumar said: “IG was on a routine two day official visit of the Battalion and was putting up at tourist resort Teligarh where the incident happened.”
