Srinagar: A gunfight between militants and government forces broke out in south Kashmir’s Pulwama on Friday.

Local sources said that forces launched search operation in Chatepora and Thamna areas of the town during which few gunshots were heard creating panic.

SSP Pulwama Chaudhary Mohammad Aslam told Kashmir Reader that cordon was launched after information about the presence of militants.

“Gunfight has started in the area after contact was established with the hiding militants,” SSP said.(KR)
