Government forces on Wednesday launched a massive crackdown in Hajin village of Bandipora district in northern Kashmir. Internet services, according to reports were also snapped before the crackdown. The services were suspended in the entire district on Tuesday late evening.

Jammu & Kashmir police, Army, Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operations Group of JKP launched the cordon in the wee hours on Wednesday. All the entry and exit points to the village have been sealed off.

The operation comes days after an off-duty soldier of Border Security Forces was shot dead by suspected militants inside his house. 33 year old Mohammad Rameez Parray was attacked by a group of armed men on September 27, 2017. Jammu and Kashmir Police said that Lashkar-e-Taiba was behind the killing of Parray and injuring his family members.
