Shopian: Internet service has been suspended in twin districts of South Kashmir’s Pulwama and Shopian after the death of the sister of a slain militant last night.

Saima was injured in Army firing when she was approaching the encounter site where his brother Sameer Wani was trapped at Chaigund village of Shopian on January 24.

She succumbed to her injuries late Saturday night. Her friend was also injured on that fateful day and she is undergoing treatment.

The death of Saima sparked pro freedom protest in the district while authorities suspended internet service to block the information.

This is the 3rd time this year when Government snapped internet service in the twin districts of South Kashmir.
