Directs uninterrupted power, water supply, sanitation; similar arrangements   at all shrines, mosques

SRINAGAR, November 26: As the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) is being observed next week, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today visited Asar Sharief Hazratbal and oversaw the arrangements made for the devotees at the Dargah. She visited various areas of the shrine and paid her obeisance there.

The Chief Minister took on the spot review of the arrangements put in place by J&K Muslim Waqf Board and the divisional administration including Police, PDD, PHE, SMC, Traffic Police, Health Departments for the purpose.

The Chief Minister, who is also the chairperson of the Waqf Board, directed uninterrupted supply of electricity, drinking water and sanitation facilities at the shrine complex, in particular during prayer and khatamat times. She asked for making elaborate heating arrangements for devotees, particularly women, who would be coming for shab khawani and other supplications.

Mehbooba Mufti herself went round the areas earmarked for prayers for ladies and gents, places of ablution; facilitation counters etc and took stock of the facilities put in place there.

The Chief Minister also directed the Divisional administration to put in place similar arrangements at all the shrines and mosques of the Valley during all these days of Rabi ul Awwal and on the eve of Eid-i-Milad.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also went round some beautification works at the shrine and directed removal of bottlenecks in the easy entry and exit of devotees to the shrine complex.

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, IGP, Kashmir Zone, Muneer Khan; Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed; heads of several Departments;  Chief Executive, J&K Muslim Waqf Board, Fayaz Ahmad Lone besides senior officers of divisional and district administration accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.
