Srinagar, 23 August: Condemning the physical assault on pro-freedom leader Shabir Ahmad Shah in New Delhi’s, Pataila court, AIP supremo and MLA Langate Er Rashid has said that, such cowardly acts will not help New Delhi in silencing the genuine voices of people of J&K, In statement issued today Er Rashid said, “while prime minister Narendra Modi on one hand offered embracing Kashmiris, the goons of Sang-Parivar took their own way to greet Kashmiris. If political leaders are not safe in Indian courts, everybody must understand what would be the fate of common Kashmiris in the rest of the country. It is astonishing that while police confirmed murderous assault on Shabir Ahmad shah before the magistrate, no action has been taken against these communal goons. The act is highly condemnable and Indian civil society, politicians and lawyers must speak their conscience out against the shameful incident.” Er Rasheed asked New Delhi not to treat Shabir Shah and other pro-freedom leaders like criminals and understand the fact that they are all political workers and they have been peacefully fighting for the resolution of Jammu and Kashmir dispute.”
