SRINAGAR, JANUARY 20: To ensure smooth functioning of the educational institutions in Kashmir division, the Director School Education Kashmir, Dr G N Itoo today ordered posting of 117 Headmasters.

The Director Education as an interim arrangement also entrusted the responsibility of care-taker Headmasters to 128 Senior Masters of the concerned schools.

According to Dr Itoo, the care-taker Headmasters shall be fully responsible for administration and academics of the concerned schools, “though it shall not confer upon them any special rights of seniority or promotion.”

He said the absence of Headmasters has been identified as the key factor in low performance of the schools. The Government has decided that all reasons for non-performance must be eliminated in the interest of students.

In yet another important decision, the Director School Education issued orders of In-Situ promotion to higher grades in favour of 509 Masters, General Line Teachers and RRT teachers.

Meanwhile, Director School Education Kashmir chaired an important meeting of the department in which all the Chief Education Officers, Joint Directors, Principal SIE and Chief Education Officers were present. Director took stock of the ongoing construction works in the department and directed the Chief Education Officers to send the latest status reports regarding the same. The meeting focused on the functioning of the DIETs and to make them vibrant training institutions. Director advised Principal SIE to notify a uniform training schedule for February 2018 very soon, so that no training is conducted from March when academics shall be resumed in schools. He also said that rationalization of the staff in DIETs and SIE shall be under taken soon.

Director School Education Kashmir also directed the Chief Education Officers to start remedial classes immediately in schools where more than 15 students have failed in 10th class BOSE examination this year. Chief Education Officers were asked to monitor the remedial classes through cluster heads in their respective districts.

Moreover, Director RMSA also chaired an important meeting in the Conference Hall of Directorate of School Education Kashmir in which all Joint Directors, Chief Education Officers and DIET Principals were present. It was decided that after 26.01.2018 training shall be started for field investigators so that National Achievement Survey (NAS) for class 10th is conducted in a better way on the scheduled date of February 5, 2018.
