Srinagar November 27:2017 The dry spell in the ongoing cold winter is not going to end this week as meteorological department has forecasted “no major changes” till December 3.

Director Meteorological Department, Sonam Lotus told that weather will remain cloudy for the next two days with no chances of precipitation in the plains.

“Weather will remain dry till December 3 with cloudy sky for next two days in plains. However, occasional, light snowfall is likely to occur in higher reaches,”Lotus.

He said that the temperature may change by few notches and “no major change is weather is expected in till December 3.”

The Kashmir valley has been in the grip of dry spell for most part of the season, causing huge drinking water shortage in many areas and also less water flow in the river Jehlum.

As per Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature overnight in Srinagar dropped to minus 0.2°C and the mercury was likely to remain below the freezing point for the rest of the week.
