JK Govt to inform SC formally about its decision on Nov 2

Srinagar, Oct 31 (KNS): State Administrative Council (SAC) on Wednesday met in Jammu the winter capital of the state, and formally appointed Dilbagh Singh as Director General Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Sources told KNS that SAC under the chairmanship of Governor Satya Pal Malik took up the proposal for appointment of full time Director General Police and one among the panel of three IPS officers of 1987 batch Dilbagh Singh was formally appointed as Director General Jammu and Kashmir Police. The other two officers mentioned in the panel were S M Sahai and V K Singh but SAC put its stamp of approval on the appointment of Dilbagh Singh as full time Director General Jammu and Kashmir Police.
It may be mentioned here that KNS in its new bulletin dated Oct 30 had reported that State Administrative Council is likely to meet on Wednesday in Jammu and put its stamp of approval on the appointment of Dilbagh Singh as Director General Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Sources also said the Jammu and Kashmir government will now through its council in the Supreme Court formally inform the top court about its decision of appointing Dilbagh Singh as full time J&K DGP on November 2. (KNS)
